Starting from the crystal-clear Ionian coast in Soverato and finishing on the stunning Tyrrhenian shores of Pizzo and Tropea, this unique Coast to Coast journey takes you through picturesque hilltop villages, ancient forests, olive groves, vineyards, lakes and hidden trails that few international visitors ever experience.
Over three rewarding days of trekking, we traverse the spectacular Calabria Coast to Coast trail, a route that showcases the region’s authentic soul, rich history and breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, we pass through charming villages such as Petrizzi and Monterosso Calabro, enjoy panoramic views stretching across the mountains and coastline and immerse ourselves in a side of Italy that remains wonderfully untouched by mass tourism.
But this journey is about far more than walking.
Calabria is renowned for its exceptional food, wine and hospitality and throughout the trip we savour the flavours that make this region so special. From traditional Calabrian cuisine and local wines to a dedicated food and wine experience featuring the famous spicy ‘Nduja, local cheeses and cured meats, every day offers a new culinary discovery.
We also visit some of Calabria’s cultural and natural treasures, including the magnificent Plane Tree of Curinga, believed to be one of the oldest and largest trees in Italy, the Hermitage of Sant’Elia, and an authentic olive oil tasting experience where we learn how to recognise premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
The adventure concludes in beautiful Tropea, often referred to as the “Pearl of Calabria”, where dramatic cliffs, turquoise waters and charming historic streets provide the perfect setting to celebrate an incredible journey from coast to coast.
